New Commercial Building Permit Application

Please review the following before beginning your application:

All new commercial buildings are required to go through the site review process in addition to building plans review.  This is separate from the building permit review, but can be concurrent.  In order to avoid any unnecessary delays, please read about Site Review Requirements and contact Tonya Young with any questions at

A contractor is required if the cost of construction exceeds $25,000.  For more contractor information, see our Contractor Licensing Requirements.

To determine if a licensed architect or engineer is required, see our Design Professional Requirements.

All commercial projects require a set of drawings.  In addition to the above requirements, further drawings may be requested at the discretion of the Chief Building Official.  Be prepared to upload the drawings at the end of the application.

Online submission of this application requires payment of the plans review fee.

Signing of this application herby certifies that I, the owner or agent, agree to the terms and conditions of the permit and that the information shown on this application is true to the best of my knowledge.  I understand that falsification of this application will null and void the permit.  I agree to allow the building inspector to come on this property and inspect this location at any time during normal business hours.  I also acknowledge that it is unlawful for the structure to be occupied until a certificate of occupancy has been issued for the property.  Occupation of the structure prior to the issuance of a certificate of occupancy will result in a fine of $50.00 per day, including weekends.  It is the responsiblity of the owner or agent signing this application to make all interested parties aware of these terms.

Once you have paid the plans review fee, you will be brough back to the screen showing your application.  You will not need to sign and submit the drawings using the button at the bottom of the screen.
